Hello!  Thank you for being a Premiere Sponsor for the Avi Choice Awards!

Q:  When did you arrive in SL the first time and what brought you to Second Life?

A: I originally came to SL in 2008.  I found SL through an episode of CSI: NY.  I had never played any online games or anything like SL but found it fascinating.  I created an account and was hooked!

Q:  Can you tell us a bit about how you’ve spent your Second Life?  Hobbies, interests.. things you’ve learned along the way ?

A: I am a huge supporter of the arts.  One of my most favorite things to do is attend live music shows, now hosting singers at The Patio where I am the live music manager.  I also fell in love with photography.  I have spent years now exploring different sims and shooting scenes.  As much as I enjoy shooting people, I also enjoy shooting venues and landscapes.

Q: Tell us about your business.  When was it founded?  How many organizers/founders?  How many SLers do you staff, etc?

A: GEM Photography became a passion project.  I had shot a lot of people who became friends who pushed and supported me to branch out and offer my services to others. GEM Photography was born!

Q: Was there a special reason you chose to sponsor the Avi Choice Awards?

A: I chose to sponsor the awards because I think its important to support other professionals in SL and bring awareness to all the talented people in SL.  I was very humbled to be nominated and I am a firm believer to pay your blessings forward.

Q: Do you have any specific charities you support in SL?  If so, who and why?

A: I have been a supporter of Relay For Life, hosting events for the charity as well as housing kiosks.

Q:  Do you want to share a look at your life outside of  SL with us?  What do you or did you do for a living?  Does your family support your SL aspirations?

A: I have an amazing family and support system outside of SL.  My SL partner is also my RL partner and he is my biggest cheerleader.  My mother is also a photographer so we collaborate on ideas for shoots, etc.

QSecond Life is full of creative, talented, inspirational, kind and diverse people.  Tell us about some of your biggest inspirations in SL?  .. a memory or happening that stands out as inspirational, mind-blowing or heart-felt?  Who has impressed you in your Second Life journey?

A: One of my first friends in SL was a photographer, Annah DeCuir, she was my inspiration.  She was so incredibly talented and showed me that photography is so much more than just a shot but more so an emotion. You can tell a story and make people feel things when they look at your work.  I want to inspire others to pick up the camera and not be afraid to give it a try!

Q:  Anything else you’d like us to know about you, a special mentor, friends or your business?

A: I am so incredibly honored to have been nominated and acknowledged for my talent.

Thank you so much for giving us a look at all you do in our Virtual World. Thank you for being so supportive to the Avi Choice Awards and its mission to applaud and support those who make our Second Life so perfectly special.
