Hello!  Thank you for being a Sponsor for the Avi Choice Awards!

Q:  When did you arrive in SL the first time and what brought you to Second Life?

A: I first joined in 2006, I logged in for the first time with a SLURL from an old furry website, I didn’t get the tutorial as a result!  It didn’t take me more than a few days to find a racing league, though, and this year will mark 20 years since I started racing in SL.

Q:  Can you tell us a bit about how you’ve spent your Second Life?  Hobbies, interests.. things you’ve learned along the way ?

A: I’ve bounced around a bit from racing sims, to furry sims, to sports sims, to clubs, but car racing is the thing that’s always kept me coming back.  The biggest thing I’ve learned is that quitting second life is easy – I’ve done it 3 times.

Q: Tell us about your business(es).  When was it founded?  How many organizers/founders?  How many SLers do you staff, etc?

A: I started Teller Motorsports in 2007 with Jayson Peck and Jeff Go, who have both moved on from SL.  I actually handed Teller over to other people in 2008, but in 2013 I founded SLARCA Racing League, and last year with SLARCA we reopened Teller.  Right now it’s a small team of myself, Biller Longfall, Canis Rufus, and Taylor Aerao, but with a lot of help from several other racing sims and leagues.

Q: Was there a special reason you chose to sponsor the Avi Choice Awards?

A: I’ve always loved the idea of awards and such in Second Life, I used to run a Hall of Fame for Second Life racing for many years, and my colleague Biller still has a trophy from when he was nominated a few years ago.

Q: Do you have any specific charities you support in SL?  if so, who and why?

A:  I have done some work with RFL, mostly with furries and the racing community, we held several big racing events and a fundraiser with Kinzart Kreetures and we’re hoping to come back with a big effort for next year’s relay.  I got started when a couple SL racers came down with cancer in 2016 and we all rallied around them.

Q:  Do you want to share a look at your life outside of  SL with us?  What do you or did you do for a living?  Does your family support your SL aspirations?

A: I tend to keep my real life separate, but I will say I’ve worked with the Atlanta food bank system for years.

Q:  Second Life is full of creative, talented, inspirational, kind and diverse people.  Tell us about some of your biggest inspirations in SL?  .. a memory or happening that stands out as inspirational, mind-blowing or heart-felt?  Who has impressed you in your Second Life journey?

A:  The biggest two things I’ve seen that really amazed and inspired me were doing the Relay for Life for years, and qualifying on the front row for two Carmonair 500 races, both of those are absolutely huge events I could never have imagined when I started in SL 20 years ago.

Q:  Anything else you’d like us to know about you, a special mentor, friends or your business?

A: There are a lot of amazing car racing leagues in SL that don’t charge a single linden dollar for cars or races, from SLARCA, to the FVA, to Spirit Racing League, and many others, you don’t have to be Max Verstappen to have a ton of fun with it!  They’re looking for everything from drivers to artists to streamers, and there are multiple races every day in SL, check them out!  And support real human creators!

Thank you so much for giving us a look at all you do in our Virtual World. Thank you for being so supportive to the Avi Choice Awards and its mission to applaud and support those who make our Second Life so perfectly special.
